Our niece Marissa and nephew Peter, whom we love very much, go to Terry Fox Elementary School in Montreal. When Peter’s teacher, the wonderful Madame Martine, found about our goal to cycle through Africa for WaterCan and Against Malaria, she contacted us to see if we would be willing to share our adventure with the students. Of course, we were very happy to do so.

We stayed up all night and put together a presentation (with much needed and appreciated help from Madame Martine, my sister Susie and Marissa). After a very nice introduction from Principal “T”, we presented to the school. Despite our fear of public speaking, it went well. The students were great and asked a lot of really good questions like: “Aren’t you going to get tired and hungry?”, “Where will you sleep”, “What if you run into an elephant?” and my favourite “Where are you going to go to the bathroom?”.

We want to send a very big thank you to everyone for making us feel so welcome. We had a great time. As promised, we will send updates as we go and are very much looking forward to getting your emails. Remember, we are going to need your help to cross that finish line!!! :-)
