We’ve had two more cycling days since our last update from Luxor. My (Spiros’) knee has been acting up today, making for a painful ride, but no one said the TDA would be easy. I was able to draft off Maria for most of the day, which helped quite a bit. She’s a sweetheart.
Tomorrow we say goodbye to Egypt. We load our bikes onto a ferry and set off for Sudan. The trip takes anywhere between 18 to 24 hours, it varies. Based on stories from previous years this should be an interesting ride.
Got to go pack our bags with all the snacks and toilet paper we just bought. Its 9:00 pm…waaaaaaaaay past our bedtime.
We won’t have internet access for 7 to 10 days while crossing the Nubian desert of Sudan. We’ll update again with stories and more pictures from Egypt as soon as we can.

Hello Kevin, Luke, Gabrielle and Kevin
Thank you so much for your comments! We are doing well. We are now in Dongola, Sudan. We are enjoying our trip very much. We have cycled over 1400 km so far. We are sleeping very well in tents and eating lots and lots of food. We have seen many, many camels, donkeys and horses. There will be many more animals to come as we head south. It is cold in the morning but very hot in the afternoon.
We hope you are all doing well. We’ll send another update in a few days.

Hello Laura
Thank you so much for your lovely comments and questions. We are very happy that you like our website and pictures. The desert is very beautiful, we are very much enjoying cycling through it though it can be very difficult. Sometimes there is so much sand you have to get off your bike and push. At night and in the morning it is very cold, and very hot in the afternoon.
Thank you again

Hello Jessica and Tiarra
Thank you both so much for your comments, questions and good wishes. We are glad that you are enjoying following along on our trip.
Egypt was very nice. The pyramids and museums are very interesting, I’m sure you would like them too. We are also very much enjoying meeting new people, and trying new foods.
We still have many, many more kms to cycle so we will be gone for a long time. We’ll update again soon.
