New Found Charm

We left Khartoum today. The cycling today was what we call “just get there cycling”. Crowded, busy roads and not very scenic. Due to the heavy traffic, we had to ride single line the entire time, which means no chatting either. Not a biggie, all cycling trips have a few days like this. Sometimes you just need to get from A to B.

I noticed that instead of the usual “hellos” and “welcomes” today, I also got a few “ I love you”s from some of the younger men…not to mention a few kisses blown my way too. Hmmm…interesting. I didn’t realize I was so charming whizzing by on my bike at 30km/hour in my helmet, dirty jersey and bike shorts. Maybe it was my lobster red face, or the “farmer tan” lines on my arms and legs that mesmerized them so. Or perhaps, stinky is the new “chique”. Who knew?! I rarely keep up on these things. :D Of course, Spiros claims that the “I love you’s” were directed at him…I suppose he could be right, he does have the better gams after all. .. :( …I hate that he has the better gams. :(

BoatAnyway, we camped by the Nile today so we all went for a dip. Temperatures are starting to soar now, so the chance to go for a swim is a huge treat.

I HAVE heard that “sweaty is the new black”…….

Amazing that on the other side of the world you were able to find some cousins to visit. That must have been a joyous reunion.

I too got a stress injury last week…. watching the superbowl I managed to pull a muscle in my thumb while using my TiVO… so you are not the only one working hard!
