Cycling Ethiopia

Ethiopia CycilngEthiopia has been a delight, especially the last few days. We are truly loving the cycling in this beautiful country. The surrounding landscape is absolutely stunning. I would classify it as world class scenery. The terrain hilly, also at times mountainous with superb 6-9% climbs. This is the type of terrain I dream of. Some tough climbs followed by long, fast, twisting descents. There is something so exhilarating about cycling through a town with donkeys, cows, goats, cars, buses, dogs clogging the roads.

Ethiopian beautyThe people have been very warm and friendly, with the occasional kid throwing a stone or two. :D As Maria said in her previous post, it’s not malicious.

We could not be happier.

    Hi Maria and Spiros,
I’m reading your posts as part of my preparation to ride the TdA 2009. I’m sorry to read about your accident in the beautiful country that Ethiopia is. I wish you will recover soon and be able to continue the journey with the same great pleasure you started it.
    Kind regards,
    Edvard
