Levels of Discomfort Experienced on the TDA
- Running out of water when your cycling computer reads 44 degrees C.
- Trying to set up your tent in a sandstorm.
- Trying to pee in a sandstorm. (Now, that’s a skill).
- Dreaming of french bread and croissants only to wake up to another bowl of porridge. (Sorry Miles, your dinners are great…but we just can’t hack another bowl of porridge).
- Waking up in a panic in the middle of the night and not being able to find the shovel or the toilet paper.
- Having a kid throw a rock at you as you cycle down a hill at 50km/hr.
- Ever try cycling through a foot of sand? You can’t!
- Lemon and lime power bars…whose bright idea was that?!!!
- Taking off your dirty, stinky cycling clothes at the end of the cycling day only to put on your dirty, stinky “after cycling” clothes.
- That “stinky feet” smell that we just can’t seem to get off our sleeping bags.
Levels of Discomfort Experienced Sitting on the Beach in Zanzibar
- The sun is too hot
- Forgot my sunglasses in the bungalow.
- Grilled calamari or King Fish in coconut milk?…ughh..decisions, decisions!
- Having to get up at 2:00 am to increase the fan speed.
Conclusion:
Which is better? Obviously the TDA!!!
Just a few more weeks to go.
