Hi all! We hope everyone is doing well. Last time we wrote to you, we were enjoying cycling and traveling through Ethiopia. Since then a lot has happened. Spiros unfortunately fell off his bike and broke his collar bone. The doctor said that he shouldn’t ride his bicycle for a few weeks to allow the bone to heal properly. Of course, we were very disappointed but it’s important to take care of our bodies so we did as the doctor instructed. Not to worry though, we are not giving up that easy. We are off the bikes temporarily, but we’ll be back on shortly to continue our cycling adventure through Africa.
In the meantime, we went to Tanzania; the fourth country on our tour. We spent the first few days on the island of Zanzibar. The beaches are beautiful so we did a lot of swimming. After that we went to Arusha to arrange a 6 day safari in the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Conservation Area. It was fantastic!!! We saw every animal we hoped to see: elephants, zebras, giraffes, hippos, cheetahs, leopards, lions, wildebeest, hyenas, jackals, monkeys, baboons, impalas. We also saw ostriches, flamingoes, storks and countless other birds. The list goes on and on. We got so excited at the beautiful landscape and all the animals that we took 5000 photos! We’re back from our safari now. Spiros bone is healing nicely so we’ll be back on the bikes again soon. YAY!!!!
