Best Day Ever

Today, Henry Gold (owner of TDA) showed me and Spiros this urgent email that was sent to their office:

“Hi, My name is Marissa. I am eleven years old. Ive been following the tour d’Afrique and I just wanted to let all the riders know how extremely proud I am of them especially my uncle and aunt, Spiros & Maria. Before they started the tour, they visited me and my family last October. I was in my first running race with other students. My best memory of that day was when I saw Spiros & Maria cheering me on at the finish line. My wish would be for me to be waiting for them in Cape Town as they cross their finish line. Unfortunately, since I am thousands of miles away in Montreal Canada its kinda difficult. I thought that if somehow, someway, the great people with the Tour could give them my best wishes at the ceremony on Saturday, would bring us closer and show them how much I love them and how proud I am and how inspirational they are to me. I bet by know I don’t have to tell you how incredible they both are since you have had the chance to get to know them. They have also inspired me to help in the plight of the African people. I recently hosted a fundraiser at my school for WaterCan raising $500. The students and I have been following the Tour and learning about the countries and about the human spirit. Thank you so much for your help. Keep on riding!

PS: I made a short video, it would be great if you could show it if possible. Baie Dankie (Thank you very much). ”

Today was the best day ever. Thank you sweetheart! This meant the world to us!!
