Good news! Matt, of “Where the Hell Is Matt” fame has a new video. (If you’re not already familiar with him, Matt is a guy who decided to quit his job and travel. Based on a suggestion from a friend, he video-taped himself dancing in various parts of the world. He posted the video on the web for fun, it caught on like wildfire and he was soon contacted by a gum company who wanted to sponsor his travels. More about Matt here. How awesome is that?!!)
Oh how I dreamed of following in his fanciful footsteps. I even approached the company I worked for hoping they would sponsor us. I offered to buy a fancy pair of dancin’ shoes, sew on the company logo and dance our (and the company’s) way to fame and fortune. We even would have mixed it up a bit; throwing in the occasional hasapiko (Greek folk dance) or a tsiftedeli (Greek belly-dancing). (That’s right, I have no shame and am pretty proud of it too.) But alas, they thought I was joking. 
I knew I should have gone in with a demo video, a power-point presentation and a few fancy graphs with pretty colors! Who can resist a fancy graph with pretty colors? I’m telling ya’, we would have been golden if only I had followed my instincts, GOLDEN! Sigh…but Spiros talked me out of it mumbling something about “feeling mortified” and “having to face these people at the company Christmas party”. Oh well, opportunity missed. hey, but didn’t the company you were working for go out of business or something once you left? Perhaps that’s why they didn’t go for it. And hell, the Christmas party probably wasn’t setting up to be that big was it?

Yes, sadly the company didn’t make it. If only they had taken me up on the offer
