While cycling in Laos, we’ve bumped into many, many other cyclists on some pretty amazing trips. One guy cycled all the way from Poland, another couple, Matt and Mary, cycled here from the UK and are now slowly making their way to Australia and Gareth, an Aussie who just cycled in Northern India. Very, very cool! We even met and spent a few days cycling with Henrik and Louise, a lovely couple from Whistler touring through Southeast Asia on tandem. The ironic thing is that they had heard of Tour D’Afrique, and sent us an email back in February. We live in the same province, they contact us about Africa and now we bump into each other in Southeast Asia. What a small world!!!
Yup, there are a lot of people out there cycling through incredible places; India, Nepal, China, Iran, Turkey. You name the place, if there is a road, and sometimes even if there isn’t, there is someone cycling through it. Oh my mind is spinning just thinking of the possibilities! One of the things that I am most grateful to the TDA for is that dreams that once seemed impossible, too crazy, now just seem like a decision.
